Iran International's Response to Saudi Arabia's Comments: We Are an Independent Network

Iran International’s response to Saudi Arabia’s remarks: We are an independent network.

The Wall Street Journal has reported on Beijing’s new role as a significant player in the Middle East.

Part of the Wall Street Journal’s report has gained special importance for Persian-speaking audiences and has sparked reactions on social media.

The Wall Street Journal, quoting officials from both countries, wrote that Saudi Arabia has agreed to reduce the critical tone of the Iran International TV network towards the Islamic Republic.

Iran has accused this TV network, which according to the Wall Street Journal is funded by Saudi businessmen, of inciting unrest in the country, and the Minister of Intelligence of the Islamic Republic has also called it a terrorist organization.

However, a spokesperson for Volant Media, the owner of Iran International, has denied these statements in an interview with the Wall Street Journal and described the network as independent.

Iran International announced that the relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia have never been an influencing factor in our news reporting and editorial policies.
