Iran Returns 268 Afghan Prisoners to Afghanistan

The Taliban returned 268 Afghan prisoners from Iran to Afghanistan.

The Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described this action as a positive step towards deepening and strengthening relations and cooperation between Kabul and Tehran.

Zia Ahmad Takal, Deputy Spokesman of the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced this news in a series of tweets, stating that the release and transfer of these prisoners were the result of negotiations and agreements between Iranian officials and the Taliban.

According to him, this agreement was concluded a few days ago in Tehran with a high-level delegation led by the Attorney General of the country, the Attorney General of the Taliban government, and with the presence of representatives from the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs and Prisons.

Recently, the Attorney General of the Taliban traveled to Tehran to discuss Afghan prisoners in Iran.
