Iran responds to the Board of Governors’ resolution by launching new advanced centrifuges.
The Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency condemned the expansion of Iran’s nuclear activities and issued a resolution calling for Tehran’s immediate cooperation with this body, and asked the Director-General of the Agency to prepare a comprehensive report on Iran.
The Islamic Republic of Iran, in its first reaction to the issuance of this reprimanding resolution, announced that it will launch advanced centrifuges.
Behrouz Kamalvandi, Deputy Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in response to the issuance of this resolution, announced in a television interview that Iran, in reaction to the resolution of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency, will deploy a set of new and advanced centrifuges.
This resolution, which is considered the second resolution by the Board of Governors against Iran in the last six months, was passed on the evening of Thursday, November 22.
The reprimanding resolution against Iran was approved with 19 votes in favor and 12 abstentions, while China, Russia, and Burkina Faso were the three countries that voted against it, and Venezuela was not allowed to vote due to non-payment of its membership dues.
