Iran Urges UN Security Council Members to Close Kurdish Bases in Northern Iraq

Iran, in a letter to the members of the United Nations Security Council, requested the closure of Kurdish headquarters in northern Iraq.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has called on the members of the United Nations Security Council to implement agreements with the Iraqi government regarding the closure of headquarters and disarmament of terrorists in the north of the country.

The Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations in New York stated that after numerous consultations with officials from the Iraqi government and the northern region of the country, Iran has no option left but to use its inherent right to self-defense within the framework of international law to protect its national security. Based on this, it has recently conducted operations against terrorist groups stationed in the northern region of Iraq.
