Iran warns about the US using Bulgarian bases
Ismail Baghaei, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, warned Bulgaria that allowing the United States to use its bases for military operations against Iran will be considered as participating in US attacks.
On Tuesday, Baghaei told IRNA that any cooperation in preparing or executing these attacks would be seen as complicity in the crime of aggression and war crimes. He added that providing a country’s territory to another government for attacking a third country is an example of aggressive action.
This stance was presented after Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev announced that he would seek parliamentary approval to station up to eight American refueling aircraft at an airbase in the country. Baghaei expressed hope that the Bulgarian parliament would oppose this request.
