Iran Warns France and Britain About Deploying Ships Near the Strait of Hormuz

Iran’s warning to France and Britain about deploying ships near the Strait of Hormuz

Kazem Gharibabadi, the Deputy for Legal and International Affairs of Iran’s Foreign Ministry, reacted to the deployment of French and British military ships to the region, stating that the security of the Strait of Hormuz is solely maintained by Iran.

He announced that France intends to deploy the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle in a joint mission with Britain for what is called strengthening the freedom of navigation to the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, and London is also sending a warship to the region.

Gharibabadi described the presence of extra-regional forces around the Strait of Hormuz as escalating the crisis and militarizing a vital waterway.

He also warned that any military presence by France, Britain, or other countries to accompany U.S. actions in the Strait of Hormuz will be met with a decisive and immediate response from Iran’s armed forces.
