Iran Air airline company: Airbus has officially canceled its contract with Iran
Iran Air airline company has confirmed that the aircraft manufacturing giant Airbus has officially canceled its contract with Iran for the sale of 100 aircraft.
Hessam Ghorbani Ali, the public relations manager of Iran Air, told ISNA news agency that when the JCPOA was suspended, the contract with Airbus was also put on hold and remained suspended for several years until now, when they officially sent a letter stating that the contract has been canceled.
The website Flight Global, which covers news related to the aviation industry, recently announced that the updated statistics of Airbus’s backlog orders published at the end of 2023 show that 97 aircraft that were supposed to be sold to Iran have been removed from the company’s order list.
Flight Global announced that the definitive removal of Iran’s orders means the cancellation of 40% of the 225 orders canceled by Airbus in the past year.
