IranAir CEO: Saudi Arabia Denied Entry to Meraj Airlines

The CEO of IranAir said Saudi Arabia did not allow Meraj Airlines to enter the country.

The CEO of IranAir states that Saudi Arabia did not permit Meraj Airlines to enter the country. It is said that Meraj Airlines is affiliated with the IRGC and has been involved in the transportation of weapons in the Islamic Republic’s proxy wars.

Shamseddin Farzadipour, in a media meeting on Sunday, June 30, stated that Saudi Arabia officially refused to accept Meraj Airlines for the transportation of Hajj pilgrims at the last minute.

According to the CEO of IranAir, Saudi Arabia did not clearly communicate a specific reason to Iran and just said, ‘We do not allow Meraj.’

Farzadipour emphasized that this decision by Saudi Arabia was made while other countries do not have restrictions on using several airlines for Hajj flights.

According to him, Saudi Arabia’s decision has caused IranAir to handle the transportation of approximately 90,000 Hajj pilgrims, resulting in an average delay of 40 minutes on departures and 73 minutes on returns.
