Iranian drones force the U.S. to criticize the United Nations

The U.S. representative to the United Nations accused Antonio Guterres of apparently yielding to Russian threats and not sending official UN representatives to Ukraine to investigate the Iranian drones used by Russia. Robert Wood, the U.S. representative to the UN, said, ‘We regret that the United Nations has not taken action to conduct a routine investigation into this reported violation.’

He continued, ‘We are disappointed that the Secretariat has apparently succumbed to Russian threats and has not carried out the investigative mission assigned to it by the Security Council.’

Earlier this month, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres reported to the Security Council that UN officials are reviewing available information and any findings will be reported to the council at an appropriate time.
