Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Welcomes Prisoner Transfer Treaty Between Iran and Belgium

The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the prisoner transfer treaty between Iran and Belgium.

Nasser Kanaani, the spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated regarding the Belgian Constitutional Court’s ruling on the prisoner transfer treaty between the governments of Iran and Belgium that this ruling has paved the way for implementing the said agreement between the two countries, and Iran welcomes this development.

Mr. Kanaani, speaking at his weekly press conference with the media, also mentioned that this agreement is general and not dedicated to any specific individual, but it can be influential and helpful in the case of Asadollah Assadi.

A few days ago, the Belgian Constitutional Court rejected the request of members of the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization to annul the prisoner transfer treaty between Iran and Belgium, thereby opening the way for the potential return of Asadollah Assadi, the Iranian diplomat.
