Iranian Home Appliances Are Both More Expensive Than Dubai and Lower Quality Than Foreign Products

Iranian home appliances are both more expensive than those from Dubai and of lower quality than foreign products.

Iranian home appliances are both more expensive than those from Dubai and of lower quality than foreign products. The newspaper Javan wrote that perhaps comparing the two industries of home appliances and automobiles might not be to the liking of home appliance manufacturers, but as time passes, we realize the depth of the domestic production disaster for these two items, electrical home appliances and cars. We assemble products with imported technology at very low quality, yet their price is higher than the global price of that product.

Perhaps comparing the two industries of home appliances and automobiles might not be to the liking of home appliance manufacturers, but as time passes, we realize the depth of the domestic production disaster for these two items, electrical home appliances and cars. We assemble products with imported technology at very low quality, yet their price is higher than the global price of that product.

The price of a side-by-side refrigerator made in Iran is 64 million, 4,400 dirhams, and 89 million tomans, 6,000 dirhams, with prices varying based on the brand. However, the same side-by-side refrigerator in the UAE, considering the dirham rate of about 15,000 tomans, is sold for less than 5,000 dirhams for German brands like Bosch and Siemens.

Additionally, a report by Tasnim News Agency, which compared the prices of these goods in Iran and the UAE last May, indicates that the price of a seven-kilogram Samsung washing machine in Iran is 28 million tomans and in the UAE is 16 million tomans, with prices in the UAE calculated with the dirham at 14,000 tomans. The same washing machine with a local brand was sold between 19 to 30 million tomans.

Mohammad Hossein Islamian adds that today we assemble washing machines with imported technology at a much lower quality than the original sample, yet their price is higher than the global price of the desired product. Today, the price of a washing machine that has the highest global quality and is welcomed in many countries around the world is $200, while Iranian washing machines, with much lower quality, are not sold to people for less than 20 million tomans.
