Iran’s Missiles and Drones on Their Way to Russia

Since September 2022, the American magazine Forbes reports that Russia has been using hundreds of its self-exploding loitering drones against Ukraine’s power grid.

Iran possesses faster and more lethal drones and short-range ballistic missiles (SRBM) that may be offered to Moscow after October 2023, when a key provision in the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231, adopted in 2015 to limit Iran’s missile exports, expires.

In December, the Axios site reported that Iran intends to limit the range of the short-range ballistic missiles it supplies to Russia.

Tehran wants to avoid violating the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231, which prohibits Iran from exporting drones or SRBMs with a range of more than 300 kilometers (186 miles) and payloads over 500 kilograms until October 2023, a violation of which would trigger an immediate return of UN sanctions.
