Iranian negotiation team member: We are seeking an agreement with economic benefits for the U.S.
Hamid Ghanbari, a member of the Iranian negotiation team with the U.S., announced in a meeting at the Iran Chamber of Commerce that the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the U.S. include mutual interests in the fields of oil and gas, mining investments, and even aircraft purchases.
He referred to the experience of the JCPOA, stating that the previous agreement did not have economic benefits for the U.S., and added that for the agreement to be sustainable, it is essential for the U.S. to also benefit in areas with high and quick economic returns.
Regarding Iran’s limited or blocked resources, Ghanbari said these resources will be part of the agreement, and their release should be real and usable, not merely symbolic or temporary. He added that the release can be done step by step, and in return, Iran can use its debts as collateral.
