Iran’s ambassador in Moscow, Abbas Araghchi, meets with Vladimir Putin.

Iranian media reported on Sunday that Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, arrived in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, on Sunday afternoon and after a few hours headed to Russia, where he is scheduled to meet with Vladimir Putin.

He had also met with senior Pakistani officials in Pakistan on Saturday and then went to Oman. The IRNA news agency says Araghchi went to the capital of Pakistan after a one-day trip to Oman.

The news agency, which is owned by the Iranian government, then announced that the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran left Pakistan for Russia.

The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow also announced that Abbas Araghchi will meet with Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, on Monday.

Araghchi’s return to Islamabad and departure for Moscow happened while on Saturday, Donald Trump, the President of the United States, canceled his representatives’ trip to Pakistan and said that if Iran wants an agreement, it can contact his administration.
