Iran's Arms Shipments to Yemen Halted by the US

Iranian weapons shipment to Yemen halted by the US

The US Fifth Fleet has intercepted a fishing vessel carrying over 50 tons of ammunition, including one million rounds, seven thousand rocket fuses, and propellant for missiles, which was being smuggled from Iran to Yemen.

On Saturday, the US Navy fleet announced in a statement that this is the second illegal weapons shipment discovered by the Fifth Fleet of the United States Navy within a month.

US military officials stated that this amount of explosive material is sufficient to fuel at least twelve medium-range ballistic missiles.

Vice Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of the US Navy, stated that this significant interdiction clearly demonstrates that the illegal transfer of lethal aid and Iran’s destabilizing behavior continues.
