Iran’s Attack on Qatar’s Gas Facilities
Qatar’s Ministry of Interior announced that following an attack attributed to Iran, the main gas facilities of the country in Ras Laffan caught fire and rescue forces are working to control the situation.
On Wednesday night, Qatar’s Ministry of Interior announced that as a result of an attack by Iran, the main gas facilities of this country in the Ras Laffan area caught fire.
This incident occurred after the Revolutionary Guard, in response to the attack on the South Pars refinery, issued a warning message and called for the evacuation of certain oil and gas refineries in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia. The Ras Laffan refinery was also mentioned in this warning.
In a statement, Qatar’s Ministry of Interior announced that rescue forces are combating the fire in Ras Laffan and operations to contain the blaze are ongoing.
Earlier, Qatar had criticized Israel, describing the attack on the South Pars refinery in southern Iran as a dangerous and irresponsible act amidst the current escalation of military tensions in the region.
In another development, Saudi Arabia also reported an hour ago about a drone attack on a gas refinery in the east of the country and announced that this attack has been thwarted.
