The website Footy Rankings, which calculates the points of teams participating in the World Cup using FIFA’s formula, updated and published the new rankings with the end of the group stage. Iran’s national team has dropped four places compared to the last official ranking announced by FIFA before the start of the World Cup. Before the World Cup, Iran was ranked 20th in the world and first in Asia, but it is currently ranked 24th in the world and second in Asia.
