Iran’s Foreign Minister’s Trip to Cairo: Araghchi Met with Rafael Grossi

Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of Iran who traveled to Cairo, met with Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

This meeting was held with the presence of Badr Abdel Aty, the Foreign Minister of Egypt.

Mr. Grossi described the meeting as timely on the X network by sharing a photo of the three and thanked Egypt for its constructive role.

Earlier, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry had announced this trilateral meeting, but the spokesperson of the Iranian Foreign Ministry had expressed unawareness of it.

Mr. Araghchi arrived in Cairo yesterday, Sunday, June 1, and today, before meeting with his Egyptian counterpart, he met with Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the President of Egypt.

Mr. Araghchi’s meeting with Mr. Grossi was one day after Iran sharply criticized a report that Mr. Grossi is set to present to the IAEA Board of Governors, calling it a political exploitation of the agency by Western powers.
