Iran's Foreign Ministry: Six African Countries Do Not Have Political Relations with Us

The Iranian Foreign Ministry says six African countries do not have political relations with us.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry states that in the African continent, it does not have political relations with the countries of Comoros, Somalia, Sudan, Morocco, Gambia, and Djibouti.

Veliollah Mohammadi Nasrabadi, the Director General for Africa of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told ISNA news agency that no country in Africa has signed a visa waiver agreement with the Islamic Republic.

He expressed hope that the countries which have severed ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran would show initiatives to resume relations.

Most of these countries, along with Bahrain, took similar actions about seven years ago when Saudi Arabia cut its relations with Iran.

Recently, Iran and Saudi Arabia, through China’s mediation, have resumed political relations, and according to reports, they will soon reopen their embassies in each other’s capitals.
