The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Iran and Russia’s defense cooperation is not against any country.
Nasser Kanaani, the spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, says the defense cooperation between Iran and Russia is not against any country or third party.
Today, the spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to a question about Western media reports on Iran’s defense cooperation with Russia during the Ukraine war. He stated that Iran and Russia’s military and defense relations are conventional, based on international laws and regulations, and also on the shared interests and benefits of the two countries, and they predate the war in Ukraine.
He stated that this cooperation is not against any country or third party, and Iran’s stance on the Ukraine war is clear.
Mr. Kanaani also mentioned that we have repeatedly stated that we do not see war as a solution and support a political approach. In this context, we have repeatedly expressed Iran’s readiness to mediate in resolving this crisis.
Ukraine has several times claimed that Russia has used Iranian drones to attack Ukraine.
On the second anniversary of the Ukraine war, the leaders of the Group of Seven called on Iran and China to refrain from providing military equipment to Ukraine.
