Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson: Foreign Ministry Receives Two Notes on Ukrainian Plane Case

The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has received two notes regarding the Ukrainian airplane case.

Nasser Kanaani said today that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has received two notes through the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry on behalf of four countries: Ukraine, Canada, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry did not refer to the content of these notes during the weekly press conference and only mentioned that the Foreign Ministry has reviewed these two notes and the recent statement, and will provide an accurate response after coordinating with other departments.

He also stated that Iran condemns any political exploitation of the Ukrainian airplane incident and urges countries to avoid political motives.

The four countries, Canada, Ukraine, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, had given Iran a deadline to respond to questions regarding the downing of the Ukrainian airplane and to discuss compensation for the families of the victims, otherwise, they would refer the matter to international authorities.
