Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson: We did not intervene in the Gaza ceasefire negotiations
Ismail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, rejected Donald Trump’s claims that the Islamic Republic was involved in the Gaza ceasefire negotiations.
In an interview with IRNA, Baghaei criticized the genocide in Gaza and stated that the Islamic Republic supports any process that could lead to stopping the atrocities and alleviating the suffering of the oppressed people of Gaza.
The Islamic Republic, especially through the words of its leader, has repeatedly described Hamas’s terrorist act on October 7, 2023, which initiated the war in Gaza by Israel, as heroic and disruptive to strategic equations in West Asia.
However, the course of events led to deadly Israeli attacks on the Islamic Republic’s allies in the region and ultimately contributed to setting the stage for the recent 12-day war between Israel and Iran.
In Gaza, as well, Israeli military actions, which have faced widespread international criticism, have resulted in large parts of the area being destroyed, 60,000 people losing their lives, and the famine and hunger of the people of Gaza becoming an international issue.
