The Iranian Foreign Ministry states Tehran’s focus in negotiations is on ending the war on all fronts.
The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry says Tehran’s focus in the negotiations, which are being mediated by Pakistan between Iran and the United States, is on finalizing a memorandum of understanding with a priority on ending the war on all fronts, including Lebanon.
On Saturday, May 23, Esmail Baghaei, in an interview with Iranian state television, also said that any mechanism related to the Strait of Hormuz must be agreed upon between Iran and Oman, and the United States has no involvement in it.
He also mentioned that the issue of the Strait of Hormuz is one of the topics discussed in the 14-point memorandum of understanding, and added that the topics of the memorandum that Tehran is working on are generally focused on ending the war, lifting the U.S. naval blockade, and releasing Iran’s frozen assets.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson on Saturday emphasized that Tehran is not negotiating the details of the nuclear issue at this stage and added that for this reason, sanctions relief is also not being discussed at this short opportunity.
