Iran's Gas Imports from Turkmenistan Halted

Iran’s gas imports from Turkmenistan have stopped

Initial reports indicate that the swap and import of gas from Turkmenistan to Iran have stopped, but it is unclear whether this stoppage is temporary and due to technical reasons or if there is another reason for the halt in gas delivery to Iran.

Negotiations between the two parties to resume this gas trade have begun, but no reason for the stoppage has been announced so far.

In June 2022, an agreement was signed for a daily swap of 10 million cubic meters of gas between Iran and Turkmenistan, as well as the import of the same amount of gas from this country.
