The Iranian junior Greco-Roman wrestling national team won the championship trophy at the 2024 World Championships in Spain.
Iran, with 4 gold medals, one silver, and one bronze, stood at the top of the world with 135 points. This is Iran’s fifth championship in the junior Greco-Roman wrestling world.
Ali Ahmadioufa in 55 kg, Mohammad Mehdi Gholampour in 60 kg, Ahmadreza Mohsenzadeh in 67 kg without losing a point, and Alireza Abdoli in 77 kg won gold medals.
Abolfazl Fathi Tazangi in the super heavyweight category and Erfan Jarkani in 63 kg were other medal-winning students of Hamid Bavafa, who took home silver and bronze medals.
Bakhtiar Taghavinia, Malek Mohammad Bouyeri, Mohammad Ali Chamiani, Mehdi Aliyari, and Rouhollah Delangiz were also the coaches of the national team in Pontevedra, Spain.
