Iran’s Ministry of Energy cloud seeding to begin mid-November
The head of the Organization for the Development and Utilization of New Atmospheric Water Technologies stated that the operational season for cloud seeding will start mid-November, and currently, the stages of equipping airplanes, drones, and determining target areas are underway.
Mohammad Mehdi Javadianzadeh commented on the latest status of the cloud seeding project, saying that right now, it is time to equip airplanes and drones that are set to be used in the operation.
Additionally, target areas are being defined so that we can conduct the necessary assessments and begin operations from mid-November.
He added that in the first phase, three main areas have been designated as target zones, including the catchment area of Lake Urmia and the Zayandeh Rud basin, which will benefit several provinces. This plan is also targeted in Khorasan Razavi.
Moreover, Tehran province is also on the list of operational areas.
The head of the Organization for the Development and Utilization of New Atmospheric Water Technologies, referring to the plan to expand the air fleet, said that currently, several specialized airplanes are being equipped, and we anticipate increasing their number from two to five to cover more areas of the country.
