Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence: 42 people arrested in connection with the Shah Cheragh attack

Tasnim News Agency, close to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, quoted one of the deputies of the Ministry of Intelligence saying that 42 people have been arrested in relation to the armed attack on Shah Cheragh in Shiraz.

According to one of the directors of the anti-terrorism department of the Ministry of Intelligence, following this armed attack, 42 members of the network that only supported this incident were identified and arrested.

On the 4th of Aban this year, amid nationwide protests in Iran, media reported a bloody armed attack in Shah Cheragh, Shiraz, which resulted in several people being killed and injured.

Iranian officials called this attack terrorist, and Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, without providing evidence and details, considered the nationwide protests over the death of Mahsa Amini in the morality police custody as the backdrop for this armed attack.

Some analysts doubted this issue and believed that the armed attack might be an excuse for further government suppression.
