Iran's National Security Commission Spokesperson Considers Enrichment a Legitimate Right and Rejects Coercion

The spokesperson for Iran’s National Security Commission considers enrichment as its inalienable right and does not accept coercion.

Ebrahim Rezaei, the spokesperson for the National Security Commission of the Parliament, stated that according to Article 4 of the NPT Treaty and Article 2 of the Statute of the International Atomic Energy Agency, having peaceful nuclear technology, including enrichment, is Iran’s inalienable right, and no one can deprive our country of this right.

Some statements made by Western officials, especially Americans, regarding Iran’s right to enrichment are merely the language of force.

The Islamic Republic of Iran and our nation have never and will never yield to force because we believe that even if, hypothetically, Iran were to retreat from its nuclear program, they would still not cease their hostility towards us.

The French have explicitly stated that they are not only seeking to limit Iran’s nuclear program but also want restrictions on our country’s missile and regional capabilities, which shows that their main issue is with the components of Iran’s power.
