The Iranian Oil Minister stated that 300 million cubic meters of gas are transferred daily from Russia to Iran.

The Iranian Oil Minister described the signing of the agreement between Russia and the Islamic Republic for the transfer of gas to Iran as the peak of the thirteenth government’s regional diplomacy.

On Wednesday, July 18th, Javad Owji said at a cabinet meeting chaired by Acting President Mohammad Mokhber that according to this agreement, 300 million cubic meters of gas will be transferred daily from Russia to Iran through the Caspian Sea. The cost of creating the necessary infrastructure for this transfer will also be borne by Russia.

Owji added that this agreement is an economic and industrial revolution that will lead to the region’s and neighboring countries’ dependence on Iran for energy security.

He described the construction of a gas transit line from north to south through Iran as an unprecedented event and claimed it will have annual financial exchanges of 10 to 12 billion dollars.

According to his announcement, the total production of sweet gas from the country’s 23 refineries is currently about 850 million cubic meters per day.
