Iran's Oil Sales Will Continue Despite UN Security Council Sanctions

The sale of Iranian oil will continue despite the UN Security Council sanctions.

Masoud Daneshmand, a member of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, said on Monday, August 31, that the activation of the snapback mechanism and the return of the six sanction resolutions of the Security Council will not prevent the sale of Iranian oil.

Referring to past experience, he added that even before the JCPOA, we were selling oil despite these sanctions. This trend has continued since 1979, sometimes less, sometimes more, but we know how to sell our oil.

These statements are made while the United States in recent years has sanctioned a large part of the Islamic Republic’s oil transport network known as the shadow fleet, and many small Chinese companies buying Iranian oil have also faced serious restrictions.
