Iran's Population Exceeds 85 Million

The population of Iran has surpassed 85 million people.

According to the announcement by the Iranian Statistics Center, the population of Iran has exceeded 85 million.

Ali Akbar Mahzoon, the head of the Population Office at the Iranian Statistics Center, announced this news to the Jam-e Jam newspaper and reported on the growth of the elderly population in this country in recent years.

He stated that the growth of the elderly population in the country over the past few years was three times the average growth of the entire country, but now the growth of the elderly population has reached five times the average national growth rate.

In recent years, the leader of the Islamic Republic and various governmental bodies in Iran have encouraged childbirth, but at the same time, worsening economic and social issues have made marriage and having children difficult for many young people.

Recently, some Iranian citizens reported an amount on their water bill labeled as ‘Youth Population’ which was applied to high-consumption subscribers.
