The President of Iran and the Taliban Foreign Minister met

Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met with Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban Foreign Minister, in Tehran on Sunday, May 18th.

According to Iranian news agencies, the two discussed bilateral relations and the situation of migrants during this meeting.

Pezeshkian emphasized the development of relations with Afghanistan and called for cooperation to resolve issues related to Afghan migrants.

Muttaqi, also referring to the relations between the two countries, called for the expansion of trade, cooperation in combating drug trafficking, and the gradual return of migrants.
