Iran’s representative: Resolution 2231 has expired

The representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the United Nations Security Council meeting deemed the holding of this meeting as lacking legal and valid basis and announced that Tehran decisively rejects it.

He said Resolution 2231 expired on October 18, 2025, and since that date, it no longer has any legal effect.

The Iranian representative also criticized the Security Council’s silence and inaction in response to military attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities and considered this approach contrary to diplomatic efforts.
