Iran's Women's National Handball Team Defeated by Netherlands in World Championships

The Iranian girls’ national handball team was defeated by the Netherlands in the world championships.

In their second match of the World Youth Championship, the Iranian girls’ national handball team lost to Romania.

Nashmin Shafian’s students lost the game 33 to 15; however, Elnaz Yarmohammadi, the goalkeeper, was named the best player on the field.

Elahe Nikan, with four goals, was Iran’s top scorer in this match, while Saeedeh Ghazanfari scored three goals.

These competitions are held for the under-20 age group in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia. Iran lost its first match 34 to 11 to the Netherlands at Boris Trajkovski Arena, where Nastaran Farahani managed to score six goals against the Netherlands on her own.

Iran, having secured a spot in these competitions as the fifth team from Asia, will face Brazil in its last preliminary round match on Saturday.
