The Prime Minister of Iraq said we thwarted the attacks of the Islamic Republic’s proxy groups on American bases.
The Prime Minister of Iraq stated that representatives of the United States and Iraq will meet by the end of the year to set up bilateral security relations between the two countries.
Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani, the Prime Minister of Iraq, who is trying on one hand to improve his country’s relations with the United States of America and on the other hand to engage with its neighbor, the Islamic Republic of Iran, spoke of the difficulties in maintaining this balance.
On Tuesday, Al Sudani, in an interview with the Associated Press, announced that during the 12-day war between Israel and the Islamic Republic, he used all his efforts to prevent armed Iraqi militias aligned with Tehran from entering the conflict through political and military pressures.
The Prime Minister of Iraq added that in the future, he also intends to keep the groups supported by the Islamic Republic under control.
Al Sudani, who wishes to remain in power, is trying to get closer to the Trump administration.
Despite this, he still maintains strong relations with the political parties supported by the Islamic Republic that helped him come to power in 2022.
