Isa Kalantari has a record in areas of disobedience but I have no record in espionage or financial matters
Most of the work we do in the field of environment and water in the Islamic Republic is not in line with our national interests, and because I do not approve of them and protest against them, they want to eliminate me through this channel
A spy never stands against actions that are against the national interests of a country; a spy should approve them. If I had approved major parts of the country’s water policies, I might have become a spy because I knew it was not in the country’s interest, but I approve it
But because I have stood against policies that are against the long-term interests of the country and contrary to national interests, real spies are trying to eliminate me through this means
