An ISIS attack in Syria resulted in the death of 53 people
According to Syrian media, 53 people have been killed in an ISIS group attack near Homs
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has written that based on evidence recorded by the organization’s activists, 46 of the deceased are civilian citizens
The Sana news agency, affiliated with the Syrian government, has also reported, quoting the head of the Palmyra hospital, that in addition to these 46 people, seven soldiers from the country’s army have been killed
Sana also quoted Dr. Walid Odeh, a local hospital official, saying that many of the victims were killed by gunshots to the head
ISIS has not yet claimed responsibility for this attack
Both reports state that this attack occurred in the deserts around Al-Sukhna, near the city of Homs
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which is close to opponents of Bashar al-Assad, has written that one of the Iranian military bases is located in this area
