Ismail Baghai: Our stance on issues related to enriched uranium is clear.
Ismail Baghai, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, on Friday, May 22, in an interview with IRIB, called the U.S. demand for the removal of highly enriched uranium from Iranian soil unreasonable and said, ‘Our stance on issues related to enriched uranium is clear. If we delve into the details of this subject at this stage, we will not reach a conclusion.’
The Islamic Republic of Iran also insists on full sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz and monitoring the passage of vessels.
These statements are made as Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has emphasized that the presence of highly enriched uranium on Iranian soil is a red line for him and he will not accept it under any circumstances.
Additionally, Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, in a conversation with reporters, emphasized the U.S. stance on the Strait of Hormuz and said that if any toll collection mechanism is established by the Islamic Republic, the possibility of reaching an agreement will vanish.
