Ismail Baghaei: The parliament’s law regarding the suspension of cooperation with the agency is enforceable
The press conference of Ismail Baghaei, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was held on Monday morning
In response to a question about the parliament’s law concerning the suspension of cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, as you know, the parliament’s law regarding the suspension of cooperation between Iran and the agency is enforceable for us. In reality, this law reflects our people’s concerns about developments over the past two weeks and the inadequate response of the International Atomic Energy Agency and its director-general to the attacks by Israel and the United States on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities and the assassination of our nuclear professors and scientists.
He stated that the director-general of the agency insists that cooperation between Iran and the agency continues as usual. He said the question that needs to be answered is how can we ensure the safety of inspectors when Iran’s nuclear facilities were attacked just last Monday? Moreover, we see that a country that is a member of the NPT and has fulfilled its commitments is met with silence from the agency and its director-general regarding the attacks on its peaceful facilities. They have even tried to justify these attacks with some reactions.
