Israel and Lebanese Militants Agree on Ceasefire
A senior U.S. official told Reuters that Israel and Lebanese militants have agreed to establish a ceasefire, which will be implemented from 4 PM local time on Friday.
This official, who wished to remain anonymous, announced that Hezbollah and Israel have reached an agreement on a ceasefire.
According to him, this agreement was arranged with the involvement of American and Qatari diplomats and with the help of Iran.
The U.S. official also added that after an exchange of fire between the two sides in the early hours of Friday, Israel and Lebanese militants are now in a ceasefire situation.
This agreement has been reached under conditions where clashes in southern Lebanon had intensified in recent days, and reciprocal attacks between Israeli forces and Lebanese militants had raised concerns about escalating tensions in the region.
