Israel Asked China to Prevent Iran from Acquiring Nuclear Weapons

Israel asked China to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons

Eli Cohen, the Israeli Foreign Minister, in a phone call with his Chinese counterpart, requested that China use its influence to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Mr. Cohen wrote on Twitter that he told Qin Gang that Iran obtaining nuclear weapons endangers the region and the world.

He also emphasized that Israel will take any action necessary to prevent Iran from accessing nuclear weapons.

At the same time, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a speech at a Holocaust victims’ memorial ceremony, promised to never allow the Iranian government to acquire nuclear weapons.

Mr. Netanyahu, referring to the genocide of Jews during World War II, said the world has changed, but the call for our destruction has not stopped, and today this voice is heard from the regime of terror in Tehran.

He continued, stating that we will firmly oppose any nuclear agreement that paves the way for Iran to obtain nuclear weapons.
