Israel Criticizes Docking of Two Iranian Navy Ships in Brazil

Israel criticizes the docking of two Islamic Republic ships in Brazil

According to Reuters, on Thursday, March 2nd, Israel reacted to the docking of two Islamic Republic warships in the port of Rio and urged the President of Brazil to revoke the permission for this action.

The two ships, Makran and Dena, had entered Brazilian coastal waters some time ago and were scheduled to dock at the port of Rio in the last days of January.

The pre-scheduled docking of the two Iranian ships coincided with Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s trip to Washington to meet with his American counterpart, Joe Biden.

It is said that da Silva delayed the docking of these two ships under U.S. pressure, but Brazil’s Foreign Minister called the speculation about the influence of U.S. pressure on this decision incorrect.
