Israel: More than One Third of Remaining Hostages Held by Hamas Have Been Killed

Israel says more than a third of the remaining hostages held by Hamas have been killed

The Israeli government announced on Tuesday that they believe more than a third of the remaining hostages in the Gaza Strip have been killed.

Out of approximately 250 people who were captured by Palestinian militants led by Hamas during the cross-border operation ‘Al-Aqsa Storm’ on October 7th, 2023, a large number were released during the November ceasefire agreement, and others, dead or alive, were found by Israeli soldiers.

According to this updated statistic, 120 people are still in captivity, and Israeli officials believe that 43 of them are dead based on various intelligence sources and forensic analysis, although some officials have privately stated that the number of those killed might be higher.
