Israeli ambassador on the attack on Iran’s consulate: We are always ready for confrontation with Iran
The Israeli ambassador in Moscow claimed, following an Israeli missile attack on the consulate building of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s embassy in Damascus, the capital of Syria, that the attack was not on the consulate but rather on a nearby building.
According to TASS news agency, Simona Halperin added during a press conference in Moscow on Wednesday that Israel cannot comment on the attack on Iran’s consulate in Damascus.
At the same time, she expressed confidence that the Israeli Air Force’s attack did not hit Iran’s consulate in Syria but instead struck a building nearby.
In response to a question about the risk of retaliatory actions that could affect Israeli diplomatic missions worldwide, she said the threat to Israeli diplomatic missions has always existed. There is a threat to Israeli diplomats now, it existed before, and it will exist in the future.
In response to a TASS reporter’s question about whether Israel allows direct military confrontation with Iran and is prepared for it, Halperin said Israel is always ready.
