It seems that Qasem Makarem is not the grandson of Ayatollah Makarem

It seems that Ghasem Makarem is not the grandson of Ayatollah Makarem.

Rayan Hosseini, in a report for Rouydad 24 titled ‘Who is Ghasem Makari Shirazi, the detained director in the Ministry of Roads?’, explored his background. The report states that before Ghasem Makarem Shirazi’s arrest, there was no information about him, and no one knew about his managerial history, yet he was appointed as an inspector and special advisor to the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development. Some media outlets, based on his last name, have claimed that this individual is the grandson of Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi. However, there has been no official confirmation of this claim.

In the declaration of integrity that Makarem himself published, his name is listed as Mohammad Ghasem, son of Akbar. In the biographies of Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi that have been published so far, there is no mention of a child named Akbar. Therefore, it seems he is not the grandson of Ayatollah Makarem, and if there is any relation, it is another kind of relation that is not known. Some have said that he is the nephew of Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi.
