Italy hopes any response from Israel against Iran will be targeted and not escalate tensions.

The Italian Foreign Minister said on Thursday that Israel is likely to retaliate in response to Iran’s missile and drone attack. He also expressed hope that any response from Israel would be targeted and not escalate tensions.

Antonio Tajani told reporters on the sidelines of the G7 foreign ministers’ meeting that our request is always for caution and de-escalation. We hope that Israel’s response, which is probably on its way, will be a targeted one and not something that escalates the situation.
