Jake Sullivan of the US is working on normalizing relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia
The US National Security Advisor, on the eve of his trip to Saudi Arabia, said the Biden administration is still working on normalizing the Saudi government’s relations with Israel, but further details cannot be provided at this stage to avoid potential disruptions in this matter.
According to Israeli networks Kan and i24, Jake Sullivan, in a speech at the Washington Institute on Thursday, May 4, regarding the US strategy towards the Middle East, added that achieving full normalization of relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel aligns with US national interests, and we have been clear about this.
Benjamin Netanyahu, upon returning to power five months ago, stated that expanding the Abraham Accords and achieving normalization of his country’s relations with Saudi Arabia is one of his four goals in this government.
However, the Israeli Prime Minister, displeased with the shift in Saudi policy that has recently manifested in improved relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, has given a veiled warning to Saudi Arabia that all countries that got close to Iran have brought misfortune upon themselves.
