Jila Bani Yaghoub, Journalist, Praises Masoumeh Aghabneshin, the School Principal Who Refused to Hand Over School Camera Footage to Security Forces

Jila Bani Yaghoub, a journalist, says the spirit of Masoumeh Oqabneshin, a school principal who refused to hand over the school’s surveillance footage to security forces, is good.

This photo was taken yesterday by the dear Ms. Nasrin Seryani of the dear Ms. Masoumeh Oqabneshin. She visited her yesterday with a bouquet of flowers to express, as she put it, a small token of appreciation to this honorable principal, the same one who refused to hand over the school’s surveillance footage to security forces.

Like many of you, I was worried about Ms. Oqabneshin’s situation. Ms. Seryani, a university lecturer and a teacher at one of Karaj’s technical schools, shared these photos and said: Thank God, Ms. Oqabneshin is currently well and in high spirits. The Department of Education, as a punitive measure, has demoted the school and the educational level of Ms. Oqabneshin’s school, and she prefers not to say more at the moment due to the conditions and restrictions imposed.

One of the heroes of the Iranian people is Masoumeh Oqabneshin, the former principal of a technical vocational school in Karaj and a master of carpet weaving, who refused to give the surveillance footage to security officers and erased them.
