The Authority of Joe Biden in the New Era of American Politics
The President of the United States delivered a speech in response to the approximate results of many key election races in the country. As expected, this speech was based on his party’s electoral achievements and the limited, less-than-expected defeats of the Democrats in various contests. Biden, by celebrating the victory of American democracy and the country’s success in conducting a relatively trouble-free and completely secure election, calmly and with notable stability commented on the Republicans’ victory in the House of Representatives races. In one of the most unprecedented speeches by a president following midterm elections, he clearly announced his red lines in dealing with Republican leaders in the House. He explicitly and in a list format enumerated the issues on which he is not willing to compromise and naturally declared his overall readiness to cooperate with the House Republicans.
He, who had postponed announcing his decision about candidacy for the next presidential election to late this year or early 2023, publicly declared that he intends to run.
