John Kirby: Report on Iran-Russia Cooperation is Concerning

John Kirby, spokesperson for the U.S. National Security Council, has stated that if the reports of cooperation between Iran and Russia, published by the Wall Street Journal, are true, it is a cause for concern.

On Monday, March 27, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources familiar with the matter, that Russia is providing Iran with digital surveillance capabilities.

This comes after Iran has provided Russia with military drones, which Western officials say are being used in the Ukraine war.

In December, U.S. officials told news agencies that Moscow, in addition to drones, is seeking to obtain surface-to-surface missiles from Iran.

According to the Wall Street Journal, American and Iranian officials say that Iran, in addition to seeking cyber assistance, has requested more than 20 attack helicopters and fighter jets, and help with its long-range missile program.
